[Also in Division E1] A capsule 12 for transporting divers to and from an underwater site and a surface vessel has a diver's compartment 40 maintained at constant internal pressure by a supply of pressurized breathing mixture, a chamber 42 between the diver's chamber and the opening to the capsule, and hatches 26, 36, 38 operation of which enables the diver to remain in a pressurized environment, the pressure being reduced in steps over the period of time necessary for complete decompression, and also enables the diver to be supplied with nourishment during this period.
