Abstract
963,859. Storing gases under pressure. NORMALAIR Ltd. May 7, 1963 [May 8, 1962], No. 17576/63. Heading F4P. [Also in Division B7] A pin 15, Fig. 4, serving to pierce the seal 14 of a compressed gas, e.g. carbon dioxide bottle 13, is carried by a piston 9 of plastic material slidably mounted within a bore 6 of a' plastic body 1 into which the discharge end 13A of the bottle is screwed, is displaced against a biasing spring 12 by manual actuation of a lever 3 pivoted at a pin 5 to the body 1 and having a cam nose 3A bearing against the outer end of the piston 9 and the gas so released into bore 6 passes through a transverse bore 18, 19 and into a blind bore 21 formed in a second plastic body 20 having radial bores 22 controlled by a non-return valve 23 comprising an elastic band stretched round the neck 20A of the body 20 which latter serves to clamp sheet material 24 of an article to be inflated to the body 1. No two elements of metal are in permanent contact thereby avoiding electrolytic cbrrosion. The lever 3 is normally held between spring lugs 17B, Fig. 1, of a yoke 17.
