Abstract

1,037,449. Life jackets. GENTEX CORPORATION. Nov. 24, 1964 [Dec. 24, 1963], No. 47745/64. Heading A3V. A non-inflatable life jacket comprising resilient boyant material 12, such as expanded p.v.c., is formed with a neck opening 14 with extensions 20, 22 to allow easy access and a pad 60 on its inner face which in wear causes the jacket to curve over the chest so that the halter portion is not forced against the back of the wearer's head. The jacket is secured about the wearer's body by a belt 44 (Fig. 5, not shown) which has one end 46 adjustably mounted on cinch rings 40, 42 carried by webbing 30 threaded through slits 24, 26 in the jacket. A buckle member 54 at the other end is engageable in a buckle member 50 also carried by the webbing 30.
