Abstract

A cobalt-chromium base alloy in the form of a powder which can pass through an 80 mesh sieve has a composition in percentage by weight within the following range: Cr 20.0-35.0 Mo and/or W 3.0-15.0, C 0.25-3.0, B0.1-4.0, Ni and/or Fe 1.0-25.0, Co at least 25.0 which with the usual impurities forms the balance. The alloy may also contain up to 3.0 Mu and up to 5.0 of Si. The powder is suitable for application to the surface of ferrous metals by means of an oxy-acetylene welding torch. Specifications 657,300, 693,719 [Group XXIX] and 707,228 are referred to.
