Abstract

A weld deposit has the following percentage composition by weight:-C 0.05-0.25, Mn 0.5-1.7, Si 0.3-0.8, Cu with or without Ni and/or Co 0.5-1.25, Fe and impurities, the remainder. The composition has the additional qualifications that (1) <FORM:0870967/II/1> does not exceed 1 and (2) the aggregate content of metals other than Fe, Cu, Ni and Co (but including Mu and Si) does not exceed 2.5. The impurities may include Ti, Al and Cr up to 0.1% each.
