Abstract
777,415. Folding chairs. CASSIN, R. Sept. 2, 1955 [Sept. 2, 1954], No. 25212/55. Class 52 (2). A collapsible chair with intersecting rectangular frames 1, 2, independent of one another at the point of intersection, connected to elements 10, 11, 12, 13 forming an articulated parallelogram each side, has a foot rest 14 connected to the upper cross arms 12, the elements 13 supporting arm rests 15. A head rest constituted by a pillow 26 of cloth covered foam rubber is supported by a strap 27 passing around the uprights of frame 1. In a modification (Fig. 4) the foot rest is mounted directly on elements 10 which are constituted by tubular elements 10, 10a, sliding one within the other with rest 14 fixed to the inner tube 10a. The arm rest 15 is fixed on tube 10 and a bolt 22 engages holes 25 to permit of adjustment. The chair may have an arrangement, to lock it in any position, consisting of a slide 29 and tenon 30 locked by a screw.
