Abstract

776,902. Locks. DAIMLER-BENZ AKT.- GES. May 26, 1955 [May 31, 1954], No. 15227/55. Class 44. Relates to latch locks of the kind in which a part slidable in a guide on a lock plate has a stop against which the latch is pressed by a spring acting between the part and the latch. According to the invention, an aperture in the slidable part is engaged by an actuating member forming part of a key or operated directly by a key by which the slidable part can be moved to and fro. As shown, a latch bolt 4 is slidably mounted in a slidable part 5 against a spring 6 and is retracted from the shot position shown, by a key member 10 which may be retained permanently in the lock and which is operable by means of, for example, a push-on socket portion. If the entire key is removable, the part 5 may be held on its appropriate end position by means of a retaining device of known kind. The key 10 may comprise a cam of a separate key-actuated locking cylinder.
