Abstract

776,153. Two-part couplings. ENFIELD CABLES, Ltd. Nov. 17, 1954 [Nov. 23, 1953], No. 32461/53. Class 38 (1). The moulded rubber body 1 of a fused plug has a bore 8 extending from the rear face of the plug and terminating in an elongated opening 10 in the pin-carrying face 6. Slidable in the bore 8 is a cylindrical fuse-holder 11 having a transverse bore 12 to receive a cartridge fuse 4. After insertion of the fuse, the holder is pressed into the plug from the position shown until the end caps of the fuse engage contacts 9, the lower end of the holder forming a cover 13 for the opening 10. To eject the holder, pressure is applied to the cylindrical end thereof, a flange 14 engaging a shoulder 15 in the body to limit the movement of the holder. The body of the plug may be made of rigid material and according to the Provisional Specification the fuseholder may be held in the plug by a spring.
