Class 126 The amount of air fed to the underside of a firegrate 23 from below the floor is controlled by switching on or off a power driven blower 28. The air is fed through a flexible conduit 26 to an inlet formed in the lining of the ash pit. The ash pan 24 may leave a clearance in the ash pit, or may not reach to the height of the air inlet. Air inlets in a fret 23a allow a small amount of air to be supplied below the grate when the blower is switched off.
