Abstract

774,172. Cable joints. HAWKE, W. Dec. 14, 1953 [Jan. 14, 1953], No. 1061/53. Class 38 (1). [Also in Group XXVIII] A cable sealing box 0 is filled with cold plastic compound introduced under pressure by means of a gun comprising a barrel A containing a screw-actuated piston G. The barrel has a tapered end K fitted with a nipple L which screws into a plug hole N in the sealing box. An adapter Q may be interposed. Lugs P for steadying the gun are provided on the barrel.
