773,531. Inserting weft by jet of liquid. MIRA, ZAVODY NA PLETENE A STAVKOVE ZBOZI NARODNI PODNIK. Feb. 22, 1954 [Feb. 20, 1953 ; March 6, 1953], No. 5119/54. Class 142 (2). [Also in Group XXVIII] A loom in which weft is carried through the shed by a jet of liquid employs a nozzle 31 having an axial bore 42 for the weft and surrounded by a body 33 having a grooved conical bore. A spring-loaded valve 34 is normally seated on the exterior of the nozzle at 43, but opens when pressure is applied at an inlet 30 by a cam-operated piston pump delivering a measured quantity of liquid (see Group XXVIII).
