Abstract
771,998. Stapling. OFREX, Ltd. March 18, 1955 [March 19. 19541. No. 8161/54. Class 89 (3). In a tacking device in which a staple-driver 23, 24 is raised against a spring 25 by a pawl 34 carried by a lever 32 and co-operating with a notch 35 from which it is subsequently disengaged to release the driver, the degree of compression of the spring 25 according as a stop 42 is adjusted to pass through a hole 43 in, or to bear against and rock, a lever 27 which carries a boss 26 engaging the upper end of the spring. A magazine 5 is detachably secured to the device by removable and fixed pins 6, 7 and a spring-pressed pusher 12 is carried by a rod 11 secured in the magazine by a clip member 14 at its rear end. The device is provided with a reversible gauge element 50 slidable between shoulders 54 and clip arms 55 to determine the positioning of the staples. The gauge is held in adjusted position by spring-pressed detents 53. Specification 771,999 is referred to.
