Class 59 [Also in Group XXVI] The axially-displaceable cone shaft 8 of a gyratory crusher is surrounded by a stuffing box 18 to which is secured the inner rim 32 of an elastic annular shroud 17 which covers the bearing sleeves 9, 11 and the eccentric bushing 10, 'and has its outer rim 31 secured to the crusher frame 12, the stuffing box being secured against rotation and axial displacement. The stuffing box is in the form of a ring with supporting feet 25 resting on the sleeve 9 ,one or more of the feet 25 each having a radial bore which is engaged by a pin 28 the other end of which is secured to the crusher frame. The packing 23 of the stuffing box consists preferably of granular graphite. The outer rim of the shroud 17 is secured to the crusher frame by means of a ring 14 provided with a protective ring 16. The gland 20 of the stuffing box has a sleeve 21 mounted thereon, the distance between the upper end of the packing 23 and the upper end of the sleeve being at least as large as the possible axial displacement of the shaft 8. The space 22 between the sleeve 21 and the shaft 8 is filled with grease, and the space confined by the inclined wall 30 of the crusher frame is filled with oil.
