Abstract

770,304. Pneumatic conveyers. BUHLER GEB. April 13, 1954 [April 14, 1953], No. 10860/54. Class 78 (1). The position of a pivoted throttle valve 4 at the air inlet into the conveying line 2 is varied in accordance with the height of material either in a feeding hopper 1 or in a chamber to which it is delivered. A weight 5 tends to rotate the valve 4 in a counterclockwise direction, but this tendency is resisted by a rod 6 which extends into a cylindrical sleeve 7 and bears against its closed end. The sleeve 7 is connected by a rod to a flexible diaphragm 8 which is mounted in a casing 9. A spring 10 tends to keep the sleeve and casing apart. A pipe 17 connects the casing 9 to a casing 14 contained in a measuring box 11. This box has a flexible diaphragm 13 which is connected by a rod 18, Fig. 3, to a valve 19 mounted in the casing 14. Pipes 15, 20 connect the casing 14 to the exhaust fan 16 and atmosphere, respectively. The box is suspended by a cable 12 in order that its position can be adjusted.
