Class 39(3) [Also in Group XXVIII] An elastic and laterally resilient cord 2 of glass fibre, which may be braided, or silicone rubber fitting within helical or circumferential corrugations formed in the wall of a flexible metal hose incorporates. a metallic reinforcing strand 4 used as an electric heating element. In a modification electric heating wires 9, Fig. 3, or a mesh of such wires are provided in a sleeve 8, of asbestos, silicone rubber or glass fibres impregnated with silicone rubber surrounding the hose; alternatively, the sleeve is formed by a helically wound tape containing a heating wire or wires.
