Abstract

767,413. Pressure gauges. PRESSURE GAUGES, Ltd. Aug. 10, 1955 [Aug. 13, 1954], No. 23611/54. Class 106 (2). A fluid pressure gauge comprises two parallel Bourdon tubes 4, 5 each having its free end connected by an adjustable linkage 16 to a quadrant 9 driving an associated pinion 10, the pinion 10 of the tube 4 driving a sleeve 14 carrying a graduated scale 13, and the pinion 10 of the tube 5 driving concentrically a pointer 12 so that the movements of the two tubes 4, 5 are additive to give a single reading whereby the tubes need only be deflected to half their normal extent for a given full-scale reading thus reducing hysteresis losses. The tubes 4, 5 have a common fluid supply duct in a base 2.
