Supporting rollers of an endless articulatedplate conveyer run on stationary upper and lower tracks each composed of a series of sections carried by spaced supports situated at the joints, each section of the upper track being rigidly united with the corresponding section of the lower track and a single weight bearing connection being provided between each end of the united pair of tracks and the support at that end, about which connection the sections are able to pivot in the up and down direction. As shown, each support consists of a pair of uprights 18 of T-section standing on bases 19 and joined by angle girders 20. Upper and lower track sections 15, 16 at each side of the conveyer are joined at intervals by plates 27 the end ones of which have channels 28 welded to them. A boss 29 is welded to each channel 28, the bosses of adjacent sections engaging in sockets, formed on either side of the web 23 of the upright by angles 22 and a cover plate 24, to provide the single weight-bearing connections. Bolts 26 passed through holes in the cover plate engage threaded bores in the bosses to secure them in position and draw the ends of the rails against the inwardly facing sides of the flanges of the upright 18. The rubber-supporting surfaces of the rails 15, 16 are cut away in complementary form at their opposite ends to provide overlapping portions 31, 32 which are each bent downwardly in a curve to ensure smooth passage of the conveyer rollers when adjacent lengths of rail are at an angle to each other. Guards 33 are bolted to the plates 27 and extend over the path of the conveyer rollers in the upper run to prevent material fouling the rollers. A wire mesh guard may be provided for the rollers in the lower run.
