797,796. Apron conveyers. EICKHOFF MASCHINENFABRIK UND EISENGIESSEREI, GEB. Jan. 10, 1957 [Feb. 7, 1956], No. 977/57. Class 78 (1). In an apron conveyer consisting of steel plates 1 some of which are provided with rollers 2 running on supporting tracks 3 and a pair of round-link chains secured to the undersides of all the plates, the chains are secured to the plates by means of stirrups 6, each engaging the adjacent side of a vertical link and including a depending projection 11 which fills the space between the two sides of that link, the stirrup having lateral flanges by which it is secured to the plate. Those plates equipped with rollers 2 are provided with transverse bars 8 carrying clamping members 7 for the rollers. The stirrups for these plates are, as shown, of less height than those for the plates without rollers and have one flange bolted through the bar 8 to the plate 1 while the other flange is engaged in a low-shaped member 12 welded to the bar 8. The stirrups for those plates without rollers have both flanges bolted to the plate 1 and a piece of rod 10 of the same thickness as the bars 8 is welded to the underside of each such plate inside each stirrup.
