Abstract

399,683. Endless-chain conveyers. BAILLOT, A., Rue Alphonse Helbronner, St.-Ouen, Seine, France. Jan. 3, 1933, No. 170. Convention date, June 14, 1932. [Class 78 (i).] In a conveyer of the kind in which the load-carrying platforms have rounded interfitting ends to permit movement around a curve in a horizontal plane, each platform 1 is supported by a member 2 having in plan the form of a cross and carrying two rollers 3 running on rails 5, two rollers 6 running between guides 8, and two rollers 10 supporting the platform. The platforms are secured alternately to the outer links 12 and inner links 14 of a chain which connects the vertical spigots 11 mounted in the members 2. A pad 16, Fig. 3, arranged below the gap between consecutive platforms protects the mechanism. The conveyer is driven by pushers 30 on chaius 18 which are driven by a motor through gearing &c, including two pins which shear when excessive strain occurs.
