In an endless conveyer of the kind in which steel plates for supporting the material to be conveyed are drawn by endless chains and are supported at their sides on rollers running on guide rails, the plates are secured to the roller axles and these latter are detachably connected to the chains in such a manner that they may be raised or removed without dismantling the chains. As shown in Fig. 3, the axles 4 of the guide rollers 3 are welded to the plates 2 and are secured by a nut-and-bolt connection 6 to brackets 5 on the draw chains 1. In Fig. 4, the bracket 5 extends inwardly and the axle 4 is secured to the plate 2 by a nut-and-bolt connection (not shown). In Fig. 5, the axle 4, welded to the plate 2, rests at each end on a strap 8 connecting the side plates of a chain link and is secured by a bolt 10 to the arms of a U-bracket 9 which passes beneath the strap 8. In a modification of this arrangement, Fig. 8, the U-bracket 16 projects above the axle 4 and the axle is secured by a wedge 17 passing through apertures in the arms of the bracket. In Fig. 6, the axle 4 engages in a recess in a bracket 11 upstanding from a chain link plate and is secured by a pair of bolts 13 passing through flanges 12 on the axle and the bracket. In Fig. 7, the axle is formed with a member 14 which engages between the side plates of a link and is secured by a bolt 15. The axle 4 may be secured to the bottom face of the plate 2 and instead of extending through both sides of the plate, may be replaced by two axle journals, one at each side, secured to the plate 2.
