777,962. Endless overlapping-plate conveyers. DEMAG AKT.-GES. July 19, 1954, [July 20, 1953], No. 21054/54. Class 78 (1). The troughed steel plates of an overlapping- plate conveyer are secured to alternate links of one or more chains by detachable clamping pins. In one form, Figs. 1 and 5, brackets 2 welded on the plates 1 are passed through the horizontal links 3 of one or more oval-link chains where they are secured against withdrawal by clamping pins 5 which are hammered into holes in the projecting ends of the brackets. Alternatively, the brackets 2 may be formed so as to enclose the horizontal links (Fig. 4, not shown). Transverse corrugations 8, 16 are provided on the plates 1, one of which co-operates with brackets 2 to provide an aperture through which an axle 9 may be passed, a pin 11 being passed through holes in the brackets and axle to secure the latter. The axle carries rollers 10 for engaging a supporting track (not shown). Where a single chain is used the axle is further supported by brackets 12 welded on the plate, further pins 11 securing the axle in these brackets. The axle may in this form be supplied as two half-axles. In a further form, Fig. 2, the or each chain is composed of alternate closed and open links 20, 21, the latter being vertical and having eyes to receive clamping pins 22 which are hammered through these eyes and also through eyes in brackets 23 welded on the plates 1 to secure the latter to the chain or chains. Noses 24 also welded on the plates 1 project into the horizontal links 20 to prevent collapsing of the links.
