Abstract
788,374. Endless-belt conveyers. MINING ENGINEERING CO., Ltd. Sept. 20, 1956 [Sept. 22, 1955], No. 27046/55. Class 78 (1). A supporting structure for a belt conveyer comprises rigid rectangular transverse frames built up from channel section members 10 . . . 13 and longitudinal members 16, 17 of angle section connected to the frames by readily releasable clamping means. The flanges of the members 10, 11 are directed downwards and the flanges of the members 12, 13 outwards. A portion of the web at each end of the members 12, 13 is cranked inwards to form a gusset 14 which is welded to the members 10, 11. Plates 15 welded to the upper surface of the member 10 support the longitudinals 16, 17 and are bolted to them. Each set of lower troughing rollers is mounted on an inverted channel member 27 which has two pegs 28, Fig. 2, welded to it at one end and a plate 29 welded to the other. The pegs can be inserted into any pair of a series of pairs of holes 30 formed in the members 12, 13 and the plate may be secured by a bolt passed through it and any one of the holes 32. The flattened ends 33, Fig. 7, of the spindle of a single roller 34 are received in slots in brackets 35 which are mounted on the members 12, 13. In a modification the flattened ends 33 are mounted in brackets secured to a member which is mounted on the parts 12, 13 in the same way as the member 27, Fig. 2.
