Abstract

931,913. Endless belt conveyers. GOODMAN MANUFACTURING CO. Aug. 11, 1959, No. 27430/59. Class 78 (1). The load-carrying run 32 of a conveyer belt 34 is supported on sets of troughing rollers which are suspended between brackets 50 upstanding from a pair of cables 12 extending longitudinally of the conveyer and supported at intervals by supports 14. Each set of rollers comprises three rollers 54 journalled on separate shafts which are pivotally interconnected about pivot axes arranged longitudinally of the conveyer, the ends of the assembly being connected to the brackets 50 by pairs of links 52 also having horizontal pivot axes. The brackets 50 are secured to opposite ends of a pair of spreader bars 56, and comprise securing portions 44 which embrace the cables and are secured to the latter by wedge pins 46. Each support 14 comprises a pair of legs each composed of two adjustable telescoping portions 18, 20, and a transverse bar 28. The cables are supported in cradles 24 secured to the upper ends of leg portions 18. A roller 38 for supporting the return run of the belt is journalled in brackets 40 carried by the lower leg portions 20.
