The conveying reach 16 of a belt conveyer is supported on at least one troughing roller assembly 15 which is supported by flexible cables 12, 13 extending longitudinally of the conveyer. Preferably the cables are carried on a series of supports 11 between each two adjacent ones of which there are provided two roller assemblies, each of which is spaced away from the adjacent support 11 by an equal distance. Each roller assembly consists of three rollers 37, 38 and 39, each journalled on a spindle 41, the spindles 41 being connected together by links 42 connected between the adjacent ends of the shafts on horizontal pivots 43, to allow flexing in a vertical plane. The outermost ends of the rollers 37 and 38 are connected to the cables 12 and 13 by hangers 48 secured to the cables by locking pins 52, a pair of horizontal links 44 being connected between each hanger and the associated spindle 41 by vertical pins, so that if the hangers 48 are inaccurately positioned, Fig. 2, the links 44 pivot as the belt runs over the rollers to automatically align the rollers at right-angles to the belt. Each support 11 consists of a pair of standards 17, each of which is telescopic to enable it to be adjusted for unevenness of the ground, and a transverse connecting member 19. The cables 12 and 13 are wedged in U-shaped saddles 31 on the standards so that twisting of the cables is resisted at the supports. An idler roller 32 for the lower run 16a of the belt is also carried in brackets 33 on each of the standards 17. Specifications 872,166, 872,167, 872,168 and 872,169 are referred to.
