Abstract

867,416. Endless belt conveyers. WESTFALIA DINNENDAHL GROPPEL A.G. Aug. 9, 1957 [Aug. 16, 1956], No. 25161/57. Class 78(1). An endless conveyer for conveying material up step gradients consists of lower and upper endless belts 1, 2 between superposed runs of which the material is carried, the lower belt 1 being provided with cross ribs 4 and longitudinal ribs 5 to form the belt into a number of box-like compartments and the upper belt 2 being pressed on to the ribs 4 and 5 by rollers 7 acted on by springs 10 to form conveying enclosures. The rollers 7 are arranged in pairs at intervals along the conveyer, each pair being carried by a pair of axles pivoted about a horizontal axis to a plate 13 which in turn is.. rotatably mounted on a vertical pin to the conveyer frame 8. The springs 10 act between the lower ends 11 of rods depending from the outer ends of the roller axles and a support 14 which is also rotatable about a vertical pin 15. The lower belt 1 has its conveying run carried on sets of troughing rollers 3. The return run of belt 1 is carried on sets of pulleys 6. The ribs 4 are split into three portions to enable the upper run of belt 1 to be troughed and to enable the pulleys 6 to engage the lower run.
