Abstract

807,061. Aligning conveyer belts. UNITED STATES STEEL CORPORATION. Jan. 27, 1955 [Nov. 8, 1954], No. 2532/55. Class 78 (1). To assist in maintaining an endless conveyer belt on its track, the terminal rollers each comprise a central section providing a beltsupporting surface of smaller width than that of the belt, and two end sections having a diameter less than the diameter of the central section. As shown in Figs. 1, 2, the terminal rollers 4, 6 have narrow belt-supporting sections 4a, 6a for supporting the belt 2. Self-centring rollers 20, 32, 34, 36 as described in Specification 807,062 are also provided. In a modification (Fig. 12, not shown) the upper rim of the belt is supported intermediate the terminal rollers by a plate. Specifications 709,908, 717,671, 735,561 and 765,470 also are referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 759,415, [Group XVI].
