1375937 Means for spacing articles in containers U JOHANSSON [trading as UNOMA JOHANSSON & CO] 22 Aug 1972 [14 Sept 1971] 39105/72 Heading B8C A bracing device for spacing cargo disposed in a container, comprises first and second relatively pivotal legs, each joined at its ends to a cross-bar, the legs being connected by a set of draw elements connected between the cross-bars, the intermediate portions of each element being adjustably connected between the cross-bars of the first leg, and means provided for simultaneously adjusting the lengths of the element portions extending between the first cross-bar of the second leg and the second cross-bar of the first leg, and between the first cross-bar of the first leg and the second cross-bar of the second leg whereby the distance between the first crossbars may be varied. As shown the device comprises a pair or frames 10, 11, 14, 15 and 12, 13, 16, 17 which are mutually pivotal about bolts 18 and are interconnected by a pair of wires 19, 20 extending from one cross member 16 to a cross member 17. The cross member 15 is rotatably mounted in members 10, 11 and carries a member 28 which is biased into engagement with a sawtoothed ring 30 by a rubber block 27, the member 28 being withdrawable from the ring 30 by a rope 31 to permit rotation of the member 15 and hence adjustment of the spread of the device between adjacent containers. Boards 32, 33 are adjustably mounted on the cross-members 15, 16 for engagement with the containers. In another arrangement Figs. 5-7 (not shown), the members 10-13 are replaced by a pair of members (49), (48<SP>1</SP>), the frames are interconnected by straps and the top cross-members are interconnectible by rigid members (63), (64) attached thereto.
