Abstract

A device for fixing to the top of a ladder comprises tubular V- shaped side members spaced apart by channel-sectioned cross-bars 30 attached to parallel legs 23 of the side members and a further brace 37 interconnecting the diverging legs 25 thereof. The crossbars 30 are clamped to the uppermost two rungs 14 of the ladder by nuts and bolts passing through the depending edge flanges of the cross-bars. Rubber caps may be placed over the upper ends of the side members.
