Abstract

1314696 Ladder with movable platform C L NYMAN 11 Nov 1970 [17 Nov 1969] 53560/70 Heading E1S A platform 20 for one workman is vertically movable along a ladder, by means of rollers 21 mounted on the platform framework and engaging the ladder side members 2, and is fastenable at a desired height by means of hooks 31 pivoted on the framework which engage over a ladder rung 3, movement of the platform being effected by the workman stepping off the platform and climbing up or down the ladder with a strap 35, which is connected at its ends to the hooks 31, fastened around himself so that the hooks are drawn away from the ladder and the platform is supported on the workman. The ladder side members 2 comprise I-section beams whose flanges have inturned edges to hold captive the rollers 21. The foot of the ladder is supported on cantilever arms 5 and the top of the ladder has secured thereto a horizontal frame to support the ladder against the structure being worked on.
