Abstract
1303090 Scaffolding UP-RIGHT INC 30 Oct 1970 [14 Nov 1969] 51800/70 Heading E1S A stairway scaffold comprises parallel vertical rectangular end frames 11 and 12, a horizontal platform 25 connected to the upper ends of end frames 11 and 12, a ladder 26 connected to the lower end of frame 11 and the upper end of frame 12, (the preceding may constitute a foldable wheeled scaffold unit of known type), two further end frames 30 having spigot-and-socket connection with the end frames 11 and 12 to form upward continuations thereof, a horizontal brace 70 connecting the end frames 30 on one side of the scaffold, and a diagonal brace 65 extending parallel to the ladder 26 on the other side of the scaffold and connecting end frame 11 to the opposite end frame 30. The braces 65 and 70 serve also as guard rails. A further platform 50 and ladder 60 may be attached between the end frames 30 after assembly of the scaffold. Further end frames, braces, &c may extend the scaffold to any desired height, and modified shorter end frames 40 are used for the top section.
