Abstract

765,686. Distribution boxes. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. Jan. 28, 1955 [Jan. 29, 1954], No. 2742/54. Class 38(1). In order to protect the connections between bus-bars 1, 2 and conductors 6, 7 a box 5 is assembled by first drilling holes for the conductors in thin insulating panels 9a-9d, joining the conductors, and then sliding grooved insulating parts 8a, 8b over the panels and securing the parts by bolts 10. In another embodiment (Fig. 3) for shrouding the connection between a terminal 13 and a cable 12, member 8b is replaced by a panel 11 similar to the panels 9 and a fuse 15 and carrier 16 are provided, a split-pin 17 forming one fuse connection entering a hole in terminal 13 when the box is assembled, and the other connection being formed by a. terminal 18.
