Abstract
764,206. Pipe joints. GIANNINI & CO., Inc., G. M. Jan. 3, 1955, No. 103/55. Class 99(1) [Also in Groups XXIX and XXXVIII] A pitot tube assembly comprises a support 10 and a head 20 capable of limited universal rotation about the centre of a spherical member 80, the dynamic take off tube 32 being coupled to tube 42 in the support via a passage 76 in a head yoke 70 (which permits relative rotation between head and member 80 about axis 74), passage 88 in the member 80, and passage 66 in a support yoke 60 (which permits rotation of member 80 about axis 64). The static take off comprises annular passage 35, passage 98, chamber 50, passages 92 and annular passages 45, the leakage between co-operating surfaces 39 and 49 of the head and support respectively to low-pressure region 53 compensating to some extent for the leakage into the static from the dynamic conduit.
