[Also in Group XXVIII] A body or casing consisting of three parts 1-3, is supported by an antifriction-bearing 4 on the central boss of an end-flange 5 of a rotary cylinder which incorporates a piston adapted to operate a chuck or clamping-device on a lathe &c., and an axial spindle 6 in the body and flange is provided with ducts 8, 9, the outlet ends of which communicate with opposite ends of the cylinder, and the inlet ends of which communicate with a chamber in the body and divided into two parts 10, 10A, by a sealing member 11. The body has a pair of air-inlet passages 13, 14 respectively communicating with the parts 10A, 10 of the chamber. The part 2 of the body may have cooling-fins and lubricating-nipples 12 communicating with openings in the sealing members 11, 11A.
