Abstract

1,013,649. Valves. ERIKSBERG MEKANISKA VERKSTADS A.B. Sept. 10, 1963 [Sept. 11, 1962], No. 35624/63. Heading F2V. A butterfly valve member 4 has a hollow shaft 5 in which is located a fixed member 10 having concentric fluid supply and exhaust passages 20, 21. Two pairs of vanes 12, 13 are located between the shaft 5 and member 10, the vanes 12 being connected to the member 10 and the vanes 13 being connected to the shaft 5 by flexible ribs 14. The sides of the vanes have protrusions 15 to provide a gap between the vanes in both extreme positions. The valve is rotated by fluid pressure supplied and exhausted through the passages 20, 21 which have radial ports 16, 17 leading to the opposite sides of the fixed vanes 12. The vanes 12, 13 also provide bearing surfaces for the valve member.
