[Also in Group XXIX] The operating spindle 7 of a butterfly valve is sealed by a frusto-conical surface 10 on the spindle co-operating with a similar surface 11 on a nut 12 screwed on a projection 8 on the valve housing 4. The nut 12 is axially located by an internal shoulder 13 thereon abutting the end of the projection 8.
