Abstract

877,791. Combustion chambers. TATRA NARODNI PODNIK. July 7, 1959 [July 16, 1958], No. 23390/59. Class 7(2). A combustion chamber has a wall 1, Fig. 1, which is partly hemispherical and partly formed by an overhanging projection 6, which parts are respectively, at the T.D.C. position, closely approached by a partly hemispherical projecting portion 7 and a flat portion 5 of the piston crown, the projection 7 having a sloping side 11. The sloping side 11 of the piston projection 7 may be formed with a groove 9, Fig. 2 or as a flat surface; the inclined surfaces 10, 10<SP>1</SP> being provided to clear the valves.
