Abstract

948,352. Pistons. SVENSKA METALOCK A.B. Aug. 19, 1960 [Aug. 21, 1959], No. 28880/60. Heading F2T. In a piston comprising a head 1 secured by screwing or otherwise to a skirt 2 leakage at the joint is prevented by a sealing ring 10 inserted in a groove 9 and spread therein e.g. by caulking. The groove is of dovetail section and the ring 10 may be of copper and may be formed in two circumferential portions having co-operating stepped ends.
