[Class 122(v)] Sealing means between two relatively movable elements comprises a metallic element 24 having one edge in contact with the circumference, of a shaft 11 and the other edge embedded in a resilient ring 22 held between a ring 25 in a housing 15 and a ring 19 pressed on to the ring 22 by a screwed bush 12. The surface of the element 24 may be fluted to give the surface in contact with the shaft a wave form. Two or more elements 24 may be nested together in one ring 22.
