Abstract
Thin magnetic strip having a high degree of preferred magnetic orientation is produced by connecting silicon steel strip of a thickness greater than 0.005 inches into a single crystal having the (110) [001] orientation by the process described in Specification 669,289, cold rolling the strip to bring about a reduction in thickness of 70 per cent and recrystallizing the strip at 700 - 1000 DEG C. in a reducing atmosphere. The preferred recrystallizing temperature is 980 DEG C. and the cold rolling and recrstallizing steps may be repeated.
