Abstract
762,426. Portable containers ; stoppers. MAUSER, A. July 20, 1954 [March 12, 1954], No. 21105. Classes 66 and 125(3). A non-metallic container 1, Fig. 1, having metallic fittings, e.g. end-closures is provided with protective coverings for the metal fitting to prevent contamination of the contents. The bottom closure 2 is provided with a covering 8 e.g. of crepe paper or synthetic material rolled into the end-joint 9, and the metal sleeve 4 reinforcing the top end of the container is covered by an apron 10 secured between the sleeve 4 and container 1 and turned back on itself to cover the metal sleeve over its inner exposed surface. The apron 10 can be of sufficient length to enable it to be tied up like a sack after filling or it can be continued over the mouth rim of the container in which case the metal top closure 3 is provided with a protective covering 12.
