761,642. Cables. COMPAGNIE GENERALE D'ELECTRICITE. Dec. 7, 1954 [Jan. 6, 1954], No. 35442/54. Class 36. In an impregnated-paper insulated cable in which the impregnant is prevented from penetrating the gaps between the conductor strands by a layer of compound enclosing the conductor, the compound is one which will not flow below 100‹ C., and comprises an insulating gel of mineral oil and bentonite, which may include acetylene black or carbon black. An additional winding or windings of semi-conductive paper are applied over the compound to serve as a barrier.
