1340592 Electric cables PIRELLI GENERAL CABLE WORKS Ltd 29 March 1972 [30 April 1971] 12409/71 Heading H1A A low-tension distribution cable comprises four core conductors, one of a neutral/earth conductor, core insulation of impregnated paper (which may not cover the neutral/earth conductor) and a screen of metal foil which also serves as a moisture barrier enclosing the core and insulation and is covered with a plastics sheath. A further neutral conductor may lie adjacent the metal foil to enhance its currentcarrying capacity. The foil may be bonded to the plastics sheath, e.g. through a thin intermediate layer.
