Abstract
1395519 Sheathing cables INDUSTRIE PIRELLI SpA 8 Nov 1973 [13 Nov 1972] 51956/73 Addition to 1334460 Heading H1A In an electric cable in which a layer 16 of resiliently compressible material is interposed between the cable core and the corrugated metal sheath 11, the layer 16 is electrically conductive and provides an electrical connection between the insulation screen 15 and the sheath or may itself form the screen. The compression of the layer 16 under the corrugation roots secures sheath and core against relative axial movement without indenting the core under the said roots. The layer 16 may comprise windings of crepe paper taper loaded with conductive fillers or an inner winding of this material followed by an outer winding of glass-fibre cloth containing intercalated metal wires, Fig. 2 (not shown).
