Abstract

An electric cable having one or more insulated cores with an external semi-conductive screen surrounded by a corrugated metal sheath and having a tube of soft, semi-conductive material intermediate the core and the sheath with the corrugations of the sheath embedded therein to both prevent slippage of the core with respect to the sheath and conductively interconnect the sheath and the screen. The tube may be a wound tape of semi-conductive crepe paper or such a tape surrounded by glass cloth having intercalated metal wires.[US3843830A]
