Abstract

1435035 Communications cable GENERAL CABLE CORP 8 Feb 1974 05843/74 Heading H1A A communications cable comprises a plurality of insulated conductors divided into different groups 12<SP>1</SP>, 14<SP>1</SP> one of the groups 12<SP>1</SP> being surrounded by a screen 22 a section of which confronts a further screen 18<SP>1</SP> surrounding all the groups to increase the capacitance between the screens. Both screens may be of metal, e.g. copper or aluminium and may be plastic coated; screen 18 may be corrugated. The groups of conductors may be subdivided into bundles such as 32, 34, 36, 38 and each bundle may be coloured coded by lengths of coloured plastic material, preferably of polypropylene, loosely applied in an open helix 40.
