A cable sheath comprises two or more concentric insulating tubes separated by an independent moisture-proof barrier consisting of a thin metal tube or of one or more layers of helically or longitudinally applied thin metal tape, the inner insulating tube being of polythene. The outer insulating layer may be of P.V.C. or polythene or both. The metal tapes may be of aluminium, or at least partly of magnetic material, and may be coated on at least one face with an organic adhesive material.
