Abstract

761,424 Fuel injectors. KLOCKNERHUMBOLDT-DEUTZ AKT.-GES. Nov. 12, 1954 [Dec. 12, 1953; March 26, 1954], No. 32885/54. Class 7 (3). A fuel injection valve 2 has a part-spherical closure member 1 suspended in pendulous fashion from a spring abutment plate 3, the closure member being provided with a conical pin 6 which co-operates with a cylindrical spray orifice 7. The downward movement of the valve is limited by a conical abutment surface 9, serried grooves 8 on the closure member permitting the fuel to flow when the closure member is in contact with the abutment 9. In a modification the downward movement of the closure member is limited by a grooved radial flange thereon which cooperates with a flat abutment surface. In Fig. 3 the valve spring 26 is seated on a partspherical member 27 mounted on a similarly shaped portion of a member 28 which is free to slide laterally. The closure member 31 is provided with flats which permit the fuel to flow when the member is in contact with its lower abutment.
