Abstract

760,394. Rollers. WOOL INDUSTRIES RESEARCH ASSOCIATION. Jan. 6, 1954 [Dec. 11, 1952], No. 31355/52. Class 42 (2). For applying anti-static agent to material, particularly textile material, being processed around or between a roller or rollers, a roller C of sintered metal, e.g. iron or bronze, with cast iron ends E is used. The sintered metal is impregnated with anti-static agent and maintains by capillary action a thin surface film of the agent. The supply of agent to the sintered metal is maintained by an internal reservoir R tightly packed with cotton wool W impregnated with agent supplied through an orifice O. The agent may be an ethylene oxide condensate or a solution thereof in a textile processing oil.
