916,317. Coating fabrics. COURTAULDS Ltd. Feb. 16, 1961 [Feb. 17, 1960], No. 5575/60. Class 140. An apparatus for treating a continuous surface with a liquid comprises a container 1 having an orifice 3 which is covered by a porous member 4 of a polyolefine which is impermeable to the liquid in the container 1 until the surface to be coated contacts the member 4. The member 4 may be a fabric of polythene or polypropylene, and the fibres may be treated with a water-repelling agent. The member 4 may be a sintered polyolefine material, e.g. sintered polythene. According to the Provisional Specification, the member 4 may be a roller of sintered material.
