760,386. High-frequency discharge apparatus. DECCA RECORD CO., Ltd. Dec. 24, 1953 [Dec. 24, 1952], No. 19363/55. Divided out of 760,317 [Group XL(b)]. Drawings to Specification. Class 39(1). [Also in Group XL(b)] The cavity of a klystron or magnetron is tuned by means of an element of high dielectric constant ceramic material e.g. barium titanate. The dielectric constant of the material and hence the electrical dimensions of the cavity may be varied by means of a control potential applied to electrodes on the element [see Group XL(b)]. Specifications 760,387, [Group XL(b)], 760,388, [Group XL(c)], and 760,389, [Group XL(b)] are referred to.
